Q + A
Where do I park?
The Ocean Institute has a big lot where you can park for free for the event.
When will things start?
The doors of the Ocean Institute will open at 4pm. We anticipate the ceremony beginning shortly thereafter.
When will things end?
The send-off will be about 10pm. For those with earlier bedtimes, the formal part of the reception program (e.g., speeches) will be done by about 8pm.
What should I wear?
Wear what makes you comfortable! Suits, ties, heels, etc not required (unless that is what makes you comfortable!).
Sunscreen?
Always wise! The ceremony will be outdoors.
Is it ok if my toes are sandy when I arrive?
Absolutely. Our toes are often sandy.
Can I surf before the ceremony?
For sure! The groom might be at Doheny (though probably he will just do this Saturday). You could also paddle board in Dana Point Harbor.
What if I want to learn about marine biology?
Well you're in luck. There will be a giant whale skeleton suspended overhead at the reception.
